[9:1]  1 tn Or “Saul, making dire threats.”

[9:1]  2 tn The expression “breathing out threats and murder” is an idiomatic expression for “making threats to murder” (see L&N 33.293). Although the two terms “threats” and “murder” are syntactically coordinate, the second is semantically subordinate to the first. In other words, the content of the threats is to murder the disciples.

[15:30]  3 tn Or “sent away.”

[15:30]  4 sn Antioch was a city in Syria (not Antioch in Pisidia).

[15:30]  5 tn Or “congregation” (referring to the group of believers).

[18:21]  6 tn Or “but took leave of.”

[22:21]  12 tn Grk “And.” Since this represents a response to Paul’s reply in v. 19, καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the logical sequence.

[24:20]  13 tn Grk “these [men] themselves.”

[24:20]  15 tn The words “me guilty of” are not in the Greek text, but are implied. L&N 88.23 has “αὐτοὶ οὗτοι εἰπάτωσαν τί εὗρον ἀδίκημα στάντος μου ‘let these men themselves tell what unrighteous act they found me guilty of’ Ac 24:20.”
